nice big stalk of cahoon nuts, like almost everything down here these are edible. Inside the nut (the size of a large lemon) is a crunchy nut-like white center - the hard part is that they are REALLY hard to open. Smashing them between two rocks is the proven method for opening them. I tried a big hammer and they shot off into the distance like dangerously un-guided missles , hitting a former friend ..........=(
