not at all sure what this delicate little plant is, but it is really neat the way that is looks as it crawls its way skyward on this tree  Posted by Picasa

another palm - this one with some serious prickles Posted by Picasa

another view of the same tree Posted by Picasa

"wandering jew-like" plants abound and here are working at taking over a rather large tree Posted by Picasa

there is a little cabin on the property's hilltop and under it this little unique chair - it is a piece of guava wood naturally suitable for the human posterior (note the appropriate indentations....=) Posted by Picasa

just a look at "some" of the many variteties of ferns Posted by Picasa

amidst the corn are a zillion other plants that will eventually be over-taken, as well as colorful fungi Posted by Picasa

this is the corn field that is at the river bank - it's kind hard to distinguish the corn, but trust me - it's there Posted by Picasa

this is another non-indigenous palm (it looks a lot like the local Bay Leaf Palm though) Posted by Picasa

this is the local Cahoon palm (some of the other palms shown are not indigenous) this Cahoon is being overtaken by strangler figs Posted by Picasa

no name - just a picture and another beautiful flower at that Posted by Picasa

unknown ground plant with an also very beautiful flower Posted by Picasa

this is the flower of the Delonix Regia AKA Flamboyant, held by many to be the most beautiful tree in the world Posted by Picasa

just some more interesting plants Posted by Picasa

these are cocao fruit - the seeds are dried, then roasted, then ground into the consistancy of coarse ground black pepper - then steeped in water to create a wonderful drink - in the states we call it cocoa - but it is much better here Posted by Picasa

this little tree has four different orchid varieties growing on it (unfortunately, none are flowering at the moment) Posted by Picasa

this is the Rio Grande River from the edge of a corn field that is planted along its banks - just across the river there were about a million Montezuma's Orapendolas (large noisy birds with a yellow tail - none of which would sit still for a picture) Posted by Picasa

this is a large clump of bamboo - some of them are as big around as your leg Posted by Picasa

this is another type (the name of which escapes me) Posted by Picasa

the stream continues down to where it will eventually join the Rio Grande River Posted by Picasa

there are many different varieties of palms here - these are called "snake palms" Posted by Picasa

just a bit down stream where another stream joins there is this larger pool  Posted by Picasa

I took a walk today on our neighbor's property and took a few pictures of some different sights and plants - I hope that you enjoy them. This is a small year round stream that provides them with their water (for cooking, bathing, and washing) not the washing stone at the center Posted by Picasa

they were all trying to be funny - Mirtha was the craziest Posted by Picasa
